hi all, im 33 wks 2day, have been having weekly scans for the past 5 weeks as lo is small, she has been head down very low down for these weeks with her back going up the left side of my bump, this morning i have woke up and the right side of my bump is bulging more than the left an she seems 2 have completely shifted, if she has and shes no longer head down is this something to worry about because the midwifes are always saying that its good shes head down already, 1st timer here sorry if its a really stupid question Blush

Could be that she's just shifted her back to the other side? I'm also 33 weeks and notice that the main bit of bulge shifts from one side to the other every so often. Mine has been head down since at least 28 weeks - I asked the MW whether this might change and she said that because the head is the heaviest part of the body, it's very unlikely that the baby will change to a different position because they'd really have to fight against gravity to achieve this. Are you due to have another scan soon? Have you got a MW appointment coming up? Even if there's no scan, MW will be able to tell the position by feeling. From other threads on here, more experienced mums have said that 33 weeks (even though to me it feels like baby will be here ANY SECOND AND I'VE GOT NO TIME AT ALL LEFT TO GET THINGS DONE!!!!!) still leaves plenty of time for the baby to get into a good position. So even if yours has shifted into a less helpful position, there's lots of time for things to right themselves.

hi cardamomginger, yeah have got mw appointment tomorrow, and another scan on tuesday, was just curious really, as it felt a bit weird having her on the other side, she seems to have moved back to her normal place now though, good to know that its prob nothing to worry about thanks :)
