When am I due?

I have completely irregular periods and found out on Monday that I am pregnant (a bit unexpected!)

My last period was probably early June and I took one of those digital pregnancty tests that said I am 3+ weeks, which apparently means that my doctor will tell me I am 5+ weeks?

I am trying to work out my due date but am completely mixed up. Also because I don't want to tell anyone yet, I can't really ask my friends for advice......it is probably a really silly question but how many weeks does a full pregnancy last (in general)? Is it 36 weeks, counting from the first day of last period? Am so confused!

40 Weeks from your first day of your last period. Don't worry too much as you will be given a dating scan and this will give you your due date fairly accurately.

And congrats! x

yes the digi 1s only go to 3+ so you could be 6 weeks already. ive just found out im pregnant today but im only very early, bout 2 weeks. but to a doc that would be 4 week.
you will get a scan in a few weeks time and that will give you more information

congratulations :)

With irregular periods, you won't be able to work it out without knowing when you ovulated - or having a dating scan. Gestation is 38 weeks from conception, which would be 40 weeks from the first day of LMP if you have a 28 day cycle.

You should get an earlier scan to work out how far along you are.
