Boori sleigh cotbed

Hi all,

I know that these beds are expensive but I love them....and I have found a warehouse that stocks slight seconds. If they have them in and are a significantly lower price I may go for one!

Anyway the only negative I have read is that the mattress is a special size to fit the cot and sheets to fit it can be awkward. However I think it was an American review - don't know if that makes a difference? Maybe sheets are easy to get here? Does anyone have this cot, is it right about the mattress, if so what sheets fit it?

Thanks in advance!

I have always loved these, but never used a cot. With regards to the sheet issue, you could always just use flat ones.

NoTeaForMe · 06/08/2010 18:49

Ha ha ha, never even thought about flat sheets! Fitted sheets are so much easier that I didn't give flat sheets a second thought....silly me!

Isn't it recommended not to use flat sheets though as the baby could pull them up and cover themselves with them? As I'm writing that I know it sounds dramatic but I am SURE I have read it somewhere!

Ive just got my hands on one of these, second-hand but in pristine condition - I love it, it is beautiful! You are right though, the mattress is a special size and regular fitted cot sheets wont do the job so Im having to buy flat sheets but 38 weeks pg at the mo so havent tried any out yet. I did use some flat sheets with dd1 and dd2 in the cot (not a boori)and they never managed to pull them over and cover themselves so Id never thought about baby doing that. Im off to have a search now for fitted boori sheets, if I find any Ill be back!

Sorry for late reply, the warehouse is

The London & Essex Boori Warehouse Ltd
Unit 8,
Cromwell Centre,
10, River Rd,
Barking,
Essex
IG11 0JE

I haven't been yet, am going on Sunday. We have been recommended it by a colleague of my husbands so I hope it's as good as he says. They also supply mamas and papas.

Now this is strange - I bought these cotbeds for my twins (they're fantastic - solid, beautifully made and I like the way they turn into a daybed/sofa once they've grown out of them). Anyway, we have the special mattresses but we've always just bought the John Lewis fitted cotbed sheets and they've worked perfectly. They stretch over with no problem at all.

Only proviso is that I bought mine just over four years ago and I guess they may have changed the sizing somewhat. Might be worth buying one sheet, trying it for size and it if doesn't fit then sending it back.

Does anyone know the number for the Boori Warehouse ? The one online is not valid and we have a long way to travel if they don't have what we need.
Thanks

Let us know how you get on- and if anyone has any ideas on where to get the fitted sheets to fit would be appreciated! thanks

FrenchLimeBlossom · 08/08/2010 17:04

I found John Lewis did fitted sheets in the right size to fit my Boori cotbed - they tend to do so many mattress sizes it is really worth checking online what they have.

Good luck!

I have just bought one of these and the Clair De Lune sheets fit perfectly, these are fitted sheets.

Oooooooh thanks for this thread - DH and I are in love with the Boori classic and would be more than happy with seconds. Let us know how you get on!

nancerama · 20/05/2011 09:23

I too had my heart set on the Boori, but ended up with the Babystyle Hollie sleigh cotbed. I love it and it was quite a bit cheaper. Might be something to consider too.

PinkFondantFancy · 22/05/2011 17:10

Hey notea how did you get on?

Fresh01 · 22/05/2011 19:49

The Boori cots are Australian and as we lived there when our DD1 was born we got one. We have the Classic cot and it has been fantastic and is still in perfect condition despite 6 years of constant use (now on child 3). You can order fitted cot sheets from a company called Living Textiles in Australia and the prices weren't too bad last time I did that but it was a few years ago and the exchange rate isn't as good as it was.

I have tried flat sheets before but some of them can even be a bit narrow to wrap well over the edge of the mattress. So always keep the packaging and check before you wash the sheets.

Hi, does anyone know if this warehouse or something similar exists? I would love one of the boori sleigh cot bed but cannot justify the huge price tag!!
