Does anyone know anything about Pregnancy Rhinitis?

I'm just coming up to 8 wks pg and have had what I thought was a stinker of a cold for the last 2 weeks. But somebody has told me to look into Pregnancy Rhinitis - as it could be that.

Anybody had it?
Know how long it lasts?
Anything that can be done to get rid of it?

I've got a constantly running nose (with associated post-nasal drip - nice!), which leaves me coughing and sneezing and blowing me nose constantly. Could just be a nasty cold ...

Whatever it is - it's preventing me from sleeping and I'm tired enough already.

I have this mildly - midwife said nothing I could do about it though I have found breathing steam with a menthol solution my doctor gave me each night before bed helpful. Do go to doc though in case it is not that. Also apparently some allergies can be exacerbated in pregnancy so hoover etc and get rid of any dusty things. x

I probably should go to the Doc, but don't want to go and be told "there's nothing you can do about it so stop moaning!", especially if it's just a huge cold and hence "not serious". I always feel so small when I go and they tell me it's nothing!

I went to my GP who was really helpful and sympathetic. I was also getting nasty headaches with a blocked up nose. I was prescribed antibiotics for sinusitus and a nasal inhaler which the GP felt was safer than oral antihistamines. I would agree breathing over a bowl of hot water helps too.

Saline nasal sprays are great for rhinitis and sinus related stuff. But you have to use them regularly. Could be a nasty cold as your immune system is depressed when your pregnant. I had a stinker at 10 weeks which lasted at least 3 weeks.
