weight loss in pregnancy

I am 13+6 today and have lost 5lb in weight since I got my BFP.

My BMI was 23 to start off with. I think I have lost weight due to stopping drinking and bad MS which means I cant eat much in one sitting.

I have been eating (reasonably) healthily as far as I can with the MS.
I dont think this is a major cause for concern but just wondered if anyone else has had this?

This has happened to me. I am 12 weeks and have lost about 8lb. I have been eating very healthily even though I haven't had much appetite, and can't really quite explain why! I read on another post on here that pregnancy can stimulate the thyroid gland which I think might have happened to me.

so its not just me! scan was fine, measurements matched my dates. will look into the thyroid thing.

I lost 6 lbs in the first few weeks (due to lack of wine I think as I didn't suffer with MS). Didn't start putting weight on again until about 18 or 20 weeks. My BMI was 25 to start with, so I had a bit spare!!

I'm now at 30 weeks and the weight is still going on at a reasonable rate (put on about a stone overall now I think) and I'm measuring perfect for the dates according to MW.

I was worried to start with, but MW just said that I would be gratful by the end that I hadn't put on too much. So make the most of it!

I lost about 21lbs while I was pregnant, and I think my thyroid must have changed from under to slightly overactive.

The downside was that as soon as I finished bf, all hell was let loose and I felt as my body was falling to pieces.

By the time I managed to get my TSH outside the 'normal' range dd was 5 and I had put on 6 stone, which I still haven't managed to lose. According to all the experts, once your dose is ok you should start to lose the weight you have gained, but 7 years later, I;m still waiting.

Babies are greedy litle parasites - if there is any goodness to be had they will take it from you. So no need to worry about the baby at all, just try to eat as well as you can (when you can keep it down) for your sake.
