I was in hospital for 4 days with contractions but wasn't dilating. The day after I come home I have diaheorra and lose my mucus plug which is tinged with blood. I show my midwife and she says it is my plug. I had really bad period pains and on off tightenings yesterday. When I went bed my liner was pink tinged. I had a rubbish nights sleep and am exhausted. This morning didn't feel too bad. Have just been toilet and my liner is full of watery stuff. Am getting pains and tightenings again. Not sure if this a very watery discharge. I have read this gets more towards labour. I am hoping what with the plug, show and pink discharge things are on the move.

Any advice or has anybody else experienced this.

if you feel you are not getting adequae answers or reassurance or help, you can ask for a second opinion or different caregiver.

niamh29 · 06/08/2010 20:37

Fingers crossed for you!

danniied13 · 07/08/2010 08:23

go and find a MW or press the call button.

MmeLindt · 07/08/2010 10:02

Sorry that your hospital is shit.

Danni, you sound like a lovely woman but you have got to be very demanding and very annoying now.

Do you have anyone with you who can shout at the doctors/nurses for you? Someone tough?

sam26oscar · 07/08/2010 14:26

honey, i think you need to press the button for assistance, i agree with
meLindt, someone (or you) needs to demand that you see a consultant, it might be an everyday occurence for them in delivering babies but this is your baby. Am thinking of you at what should be a wonderful time, but seems to be extremely stressful at the moment which is not good for you or babe. xx

MmeLindt · 08/08/2010 07:38

How are you doing Danni?

MmeLindt · 10/08/2010 10:00

Danni
Hope you are ok.

Madasajarofwasps · 10/08/2010 14:43

Sorry I haven't filled you in. Was too much to write on a smartphone. I got out yesterday with my beautiful baby daughter.

Well I had a nightmare with the hospital and really wanted to punch the doctors. I wasn't the only lady who felt that way. Basically what ever you told them was happen they said it wasn't. I'm glad this is my last baby and I don't have to go back again.

I went in bleeding and contracting to be told that I wasn't bleeding and I was experiencing braxton hicks. So I showed the evidence of my bleeding and they kept me in for a scan. Which came back fine. However as I was still bleeding I couldn't go home. By that night I was leaking again to be told that I wasn't leaking. So I went toilet and came back soaked. So saw different doctor who said I was leaking and I would be in till I had the baby. The next day I was contracting and by lunchtime had to demand to be sent down to labour ward. When down there I was told my waters wasn't leaking again. Eventually I was allowed my epidural and was checked to be told I was 10 cm. Then my waters burst. I couldn't push so had help with forceps. When I gave birth my hind waters hit everyone. The doctor said it was my hind wayers that had been leaking all this time as I had so much of it.

Baby was fine and just had to go on antibiotics for a few days till bloods came back. She weighed 5lb 4oz and is as small as a doll. She is gorgeous though.

The hospital was Kettering General Hospital in Northamptonshire. They have some good doctors and midwifes but I'm sorry to say they have some really bad ones aswell. Alot of women got left on the ward till they were nearly pushing. They didn't listen to us and we got left as they were so short staffed.

I am so happy you and your baby are fine: but so sorry you had to endure all that crap.
I hope you manage to finally enjoy your now complete family at home. What a nightmare it's been for you: cannot believe they didn't listen to you at all, especially being your 4th.
Enjoy your baby!

daisystone · 12/08/2010 12:21

Danni
Congratulations on the birth of your wee girl. Hope you are both ok.

So sorry you had such a horrible experience with the hospital. When you are feeling up to it you might like to write to the hospital and complain about the appalling standard of care.

Thinking of you
