Seaplane 8 weeks pregnant??

Hi everyone,

We booked a holiday to the Maldives before we found out i was pregnant. We have a 40 minute seaplane transfer, and i was wondering if it is okay to fly on a seaplane when I will be 8 weeks pregnant?

I have flown (normal plane) when 5 weeks and 13 weeks pregnant, and will again around 28 weeks for a holiday - there's no problem with flying when pregnant, I imagine it's the same with a seaplane to be honest, but you could always check with the travel co/airline? I guess the only thing might be travel sickness making the morning sickness worse!

I like to check I know what the medical care is like in the country I'm going to as well, just in case anything happens. And I check that my travel insurance covers it (most do these days I believe). At 8 weeks you won't have any restrictions on flying from the airline though.

Osch not too sure about medical side of it but i would be more concerned with the sickness side!! Do you get seasick at all?? Just thinking m/s usually kicks in around 6 weeks so you may want to take tissues and water just in case hope you have fantastic time and hope you don't feel too rough !!

Ohh goodness, I didn't even think about the sickness side of it! May have to take the sick bag from the normal plane before the seaplane!

How high will they be flying? The usual recommendation is check before flying in an unpressurised plane when pg as they can actually be more of an issue than a jumbo jet at 40 thousand feet.

Yes absolutely fine. I went to the maldives at 26 weeks pregnant and went on a seaplace twice!
