hello everyone,
At my 34 week check yesterday, midwife found that I was only measuring 30 weeks so is sending me for a growth scan [not overly concerned about this for various reasons]
I am more concerned about baby being 3/5 engaged.Midwife's advice was make sure my bag was packed! Any experience of this with a 2nd baby? TIA

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I was told at 35w that baby was fully engaged
(with #3)

At 38w it was 2/5, apparently. They said with subsequent pregnancies the baby can bounce in and out a bit, and sometimes doesn't fully engage until labour starts

IME mws all say different things... 1 told me to be "fully prepared" from 37w, another said as I was overdue with 1st 2, I would be this time as well

My 2nd was 4/5 at about 31ish weeks and each week thereafter kept bobbing in and out, lying on left, decides to go oblique, 2/5..... In the end dc came early at 37 weeks!

Ok Thanks thats reassuring! Any thoughts on the growth scan? my dd was 5lb 15oz so wasnt expecting a big baby anyway and fundal height isnt an accurate measurement is it?

I'd ignore worry about fundal height measurements - with DD2 I measured big throughout and at one point was told she was going to be a monster , then measured small and was told she was going to be wee. She was 6lb 4oz

Also - true what folk have said above - with 2nd/3rd pregs apparently they bob in and out.
