Contracting but not Dilating

I am 35 wks pregnant and have been in hospital 3 times in the last 2 wks. Twice I was admitted for 2 days and then 3 days. The 1st time they just sent me home and due to that I was back in within 5 days with a urine and kidney infection. Which I was put on IV meds for. I still wasn't right when I left and felt poorly. Within 3 days I was laying on my bed contracting every 4 mins. I emptied my bowel and the contractions where very strong that I had to breath through them.
My partner took me into hospital where they said I was definately having strong contractions. They gave me pethidine to help me rest. Well I got no rest and by the next day the contractions were stronger and I couldn't focus or keep my eyes open when the midwives spoke to me. The doctor said I would either go into labour or they would stop. As I wasn't dilating yet.
I was contracting for 3 days with no dilating. They did eventually stop yesterday and I was sent home to be told if it happens again before 37 wks to come back. I was pumped full of pain killers and tamazipan to help me sleep. Last night I was constipated which eventually relieved itself and now this morning I have diaheorra again.
While in hospital I had browny discharge which I was told not to worry about.

Any advice or explanations to what I experienced.

Well just been for a wee. wiped myself and nothing. However as I go to throw tissue in toilet there is a snotty mucus on the seat that is creamy with blood streaks in it. That just fell out of me. This is my 4th baby but didn't have any of these things with other 3.

sounds like your p,lug of mucus, its a show i think!! Things may be on the move for you!!! Good luck and keep us posted xx

you really should call labour ward as you have been advised to do so as you are prem.

even if you have lost your plug, it does not necessarily mean labour is immininet, but it can mean your cervix has dilated a little

as you are 35 weeks, you should call labour ward especially as you have been contracting

I hope this is good news for you and that your cervix is now deciding to "play the game". I sympathise greatly - I found myself 5 weeks ago contracting at less than a minute apart... I dilated less than a centimeter. (emcs in the end)

My midwife turned up out of the blue today. She said it was part of my plug so expect more. It was tinged with blood so assume that was part of a show. I've had a few twinges today so hoping it will be soon. My midwife said at 35 wks I shouldn't worry as she should be ok 2 come home with me after a few days. I think my body has had enough as I also have MS.

Well had a few more twinges last night but nothing happened. Had pink discharge but thats all. I'm exhausted though.
