I am just about 16 weeks and only 'pop' out a little (not significantly) when I sit down. You cannot tell I am pregnant when I stand up straight - I just like I could so with some sit ups! However a friend of mine looked noticeably pregnant with a protruding stomach at my stage (we are 3 months apart) and yet she is much slimmer than I.

I am now wondering if my baby is too small! When will I start really showing??!!

Can't wait for the days to come when those lazy passengers on the underground to start standing up for the poor pregnant lady! Lol

Congratulations!
It all depends on so many things - state of your stomach muscles pre-pregnancy, whether this is first baby or not, pre-pregnancy size, your height and the length of your torso.... Some women show very early, others get to 6 months plus. I was in the latter group - tall, long torso, first baby, thin anyway. Although I could see a difference earlier, it was bout 6 months before I had anything much to show for it. Don't worry about it being a small baby - they got all fretful about mine (borderline low pre-pregnancy BMI and the notoriously unreliable fundal height measurements were off according to some) and did a growth scan at 27 weeks and it is bang on average all the way. Which is exactly what baby was at 21 weeks!
Word of warning - am now 32 weeks and VERY obviously preggers and no one has offered me a seat, or held a door open for me or ANYTHING! HA!!

the slimmer you are the more it will be noticeable, thats y your friend shows more. remember at 16 weeks your baby will be about 8 cm so tiny. im a small girl a size 6 so when i 1st found out i was pregnant i got a noticable bump before i was 12 weeks, but when i was 40 weeks i was tiny didnt even look pregnant, and my baby was a healthy weight.
ive known people to be at least 6 month before they get a visible bump, dont worry bout it each woman is different

with ds1 about 24 weeks with ds2 about 16 weeks!

everyone is different. I had a bit of a bump at about 20 weeks, and a bigger, unmistakably pregnant one at 24 weeks. This is my first baby.

I only just look pregnant now, and I'm 20 weeks. And not very pregnant. Strangers might think I'm a bit fat
