I am 24+4 with baby number 2 and I barely feel a thing, I got really concerned around 18 weeks as I was told by my midwife expect early feelings and I didn't feel baby until 20 wks and even then so slight I questioned it. All was fine at 20 wks scan but since I feel a little kick a few times a day whereas with the first I was constantly feeling him wriggle and kicks were strong and consistant. Is this anything to worry about or do you think I just have a quieter child coming? Some1 has suggested perhaps it's because everything stretched before but I still fit in my size 10 clothes so I'm not exactly larger than before, my tummy is quite big I guess but I wouldn't say bigger than before at this stage. Anyone else had a different experience of babies movements?

The line down your tummy, will come later because your tummy muscles have already been stretched by your previous pregnancies. The linea nigra is the 'gap' between your tummy muscles, but in a lady who has had multiple pregnancies, it takes longer to show. The movement thing...you may well find that you have whats called an anterior placenta, which basically means it is in front of the baby, so the baby is kicking the placenta not you! I had that with my 3rd dc, it really worried me, but he's totally fine...and faaaar too active! I'm now 16 weeks with number 4, no line down my tummy yet, but am feeling kicks this time.

Is it maybe that your baby is breech. My second one was breech and I didn't feel that mush in the way of kicks until much later on.

My placenta is low apparently (unless it's moved in the last few wks,) I may have to have a c section if it's not moved by 32 wks. Even at the time I was told I had a low lying placenta I was a bit concerned by the lack of feeling, but my mind was put to rest by the scan. I do feel occasional kicks so I haven't asked further questions but it's so little in comparison with my first I'm finding it strange. Thanks for reply :D I'll ask them at my next apt.

I've had 4 and they were all different. Number 1 was a big hiccuper and kicked consistently, 2 was very quiet apart from one night when she must have turned (was previously breech), number 3 was reasonably similar to number 1 but without the hiccups, and number 4 was a mega kicker. I would sway walking down the street when he kicked and lurch when talking to people! He was the biggest...

Every pregnancy is different. So long as you are keeping up with midwifes appointments and scans and she is reassuring you all is well, I would not worry - my 1st and 2nd were a lot more active than my 3rd - or so it seemed - or maybe I was just so busy with the first two kids I didn't sit still to feel the kicks so often!
Placenta position and baby position can also affect how you feel it.
I bought a fetal monitor off ebay cheaply - and If I felt worried - I would listen to baby on that - and I could hear variations in heartrate aswell as kicks/hiccups etc. I found it quite reassuring.

i've never had the line down my tummy, am on my 5.

not felt much this time. but didnt with dd4 either due to the position of placenta.
