Hi, i'm new on here! Seems a great friendly site wondering if any body can help.....

I am desperate for another baby and wanting to start trying asap, problem is i have a denist appointment on the 16th Aug, it is for 2 fillings and for an existing silver filling to be smoothed and filed down. I know there has been concern about the murcury in silver fillings and i am worried about that floating about in my system when i am trying to conceive. Does anyone know if this is safe or anyone had this done while pregnant?

i would be be greatful for any help.

Go along and speak to your dentist. They will let you know if it is safe to go ahead. I had a new patient check when I was TTC and they did x-rays. Before hand, I asked the dentist if this was ok and he said it was absolutely safe even if I were to be pregnant.

I don't actually know about fillings, but they will certainly tell you before carrying out the work.
