The taste seems to make me feel more sick than regular m/s?? Its there all the time and only eases if i eat, but then after i eat i feel sooo sick that sometimes i think its just not worth eating has anyone else have this?? if so how do you get rid of it and how long does it last?? really don't remember this first time round!! Oh yes I had this - it was what made me first think that I was pregnant.

Nothing could get rid of the taste although constantly chewing gum helped dull it and made me feel less sick

I had this. It's horrid. You poor thing. It went at about 12 weeks for me (along with sickness), and I think that's pretty usual. Some people are lucky in that it goes even sooner. I dont know how PG you are, but you might be one of them

Chin up. And congratulations!

MissCKitty · 30/07/2010 17:37

Yep I had it too. It wasn't metallic just horrid, made everything else taste horrid too. It only went away when I ate something. However I asked on MN and most ladies found that the taste disappeared around 13-15 weeks. Lo and behold am 14 wks on saturday and mine seems to have gone!

Yes, I had this too. Worthwhile avoiding pine nuts, incidentally - they're often from China and can leave a similar metallic taste for a few days.

MissCKitty · 30/07/2010 19:06

Interesting about the pine nuts octavia cos i eat loads. I wonder if they made it worse hmmm.......

sam26oscar · 30/07/2010 19:21

I had the same - totally put me off food, apart from fruit. Just like everyone else it disappeared at around the same time as the morning sickness stopped - around 14 weeks, I think.

FloraPost · 31/07/2010 09:34

I still have this at 14 weeks. Apples help as do those little pots of chopped fruit, peaches or pineapple, in juice. I find that sugary foods and drinks make it worse. Otherwise, brushing or gargling as often as possible.

I had it, and found oranges/tangerines/satsumas etc helped get rid of it for an hour or so.
