Hi,

Have an appointment with my M/W but not till next week and was wondering if anyone has experience with this.

Very occasionally get suddenly super thirsty, feel cold but sweating, like I can only see tunnel vision and like I'm gonna fall down . . Lasts about 5 mins then after it passes I'm so tired that I can barely stand up

Got me a lil worried

Phone your midwife now. I have no idea but think you should speak to someone.

I don't know about thirsty/cold sweats but the tunnel vision sounds like low blood pressure. All together though sounds like something you might want to get it checked out. Is there an antenatal clinic at the hospital you can call, that's where my midwife always tells me to call if I'm concerned about anything.

you might have anemia, that makes you very tired, and makes your vision go funny and also very dizzy.
i had it and thats how i felt, if u have they will give you some tablets in mean time just try to eat plenty of iron rich foods, see if that makes you feel better

I think when your pregnant anything that worries you you should take to your doctor. In your case I would call up your GP or local hospital maternity unit (at the hopsital you are booked into perhaps) and ask to see someone today. No harm in you doing that, will make you sleep more easily tonight. And should, god forbid, something like gestational diabetes or pre-enclampsia be on the cards then you can get that sorted asap. Never doubt your instincts and always be over precautions is my advise. Off to the doctor to double check your health with you please

Distorted vision is one of the symptoms of pre-eclampsia.

Its likely just to be dehydration or a migraine (my Mum got her first ever migraine when preg).

Call your midwife/the labour ward/your EPU (depending on what stage you are at) now to be safe please.

Pre-eclampsia can develop VERY quickly - literally in an hour.

Hope you will be fine x

Call midwife or go to GP immediately.

Could be several things: gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia are possibilities that should be dealt with urgently (or can be ruled out very easily).

Called the doc and after much "You should see your m/w for preg related issues" they are seeing me this afternoon. Thanks

Good. Keep us posted and I hope it's nothing serious.

aleene · 30/07/2010 19:24

How you are OP? Hope you are okay.

Spoke to the doctor and he thinks its just because I get dehydrated . . Says to carry water with me at all times. Booked in for a GTT on Sept 5th so was told to wait for that as they couldnt get me in any earlier.

Going to monitor the situ and if it happens again I shall be back with many compains
