I'm around 6-7 weeks with DC3, I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks and had no symptoms for the first week or so then the nausea came along (I had awful nausea with my other 2, with DD2 I felt sick every single day of my pregnancy) the nausea has been manageable and i've only gotten sick once, i've had some dry mouth (I usually have 2-3 weeks of awful dry mouth in the first month or 2) but my boobs aren't sore at all, they are a little tingly and sensitive but not sore, in the other 2 pregnancies they were so tender at this stage a towel was agony. At this stage I should know not to compare symptoms from one pregnancy to another and not to over-analyse but I can't help it, I've never had a MC but the fear is always there. I need to know that there are others out there who's early pregnancy symptoms have varied and everything has been ok.
Thanks xxxxx

Hi there,

I think pregnancies can vary greatly. I know people who've had identical pregnancies, but a lot who have had completely different ones. I'm pregnant (13wks) with DC2 (can anyone tell me what DC stands for by the way??) and with my first pregnancy I had mild nausea and tiredness at first, slightly sore boobs but not much else, this time, I've got more nausea, horrid aftertaste in the mouth and generally feeling much worse. Also my boobs have grown much bigger earlier on this time. So I think symptoms can vary a lot- I didn't get symptoms for a while and it's weird as you don't really feel pregnant. Try not to worry I'm sure all will be fine! Had my scan last week and part of me was convinced baby wasn't alive or not even there as I have no bump- but all was fine and heartbeat was strong!

DC - darling child.

OP, I feel the same as you. I'm 7+6 with my second pregnancy. I've never had a mc either. My symptoms are completely different to my first pg too. The reason I am so sure this one will go wrong is, I think, because conceiving has been very easy for me both times. Both times I have fallen pregnant the first month we have tried. It seems unfair that I can get pregnant so easily when so many friends either cannot get pregnant, have had miscarraiges and ectopics and had their hearts broken. For this reason I am convinced that I won't 'get away' with a happy pregnancy ending up in a baby. I am crying as I write this, I am so convinced it's all going wrong.

Sorry - not much help at all, but at least you know you're not the only one who worries like this.

Sarahscot I agree, I had an easy 1st pregnancy with no complications and never had a mc so also thinking something is bound to go wrong this time but I'm sure it's just us being paranoid! I suppose we never stop worrying despite not really having a reason to be worried! I think the hormones don't help- make us more emotional and irrational! Try not to worry- I'm sure it's progressing well and all is fine!

I spent the first few weeks of pregnancy an anxious mess convinced everything was going to go wrong. The most helpful thing for me was realising that everyone's pregnancies vary enormously and that even women who have had 3 children can have completely different symptoms for each one.

I forced myself not to worry about every change in symptom or little ache and pain. I think someone said at one point "your body is growing a baby - of course strange things will happen" but it must be hard if you are comparing to a previous pregnancy. For what it's worth my boobs stopped hurting at about 6 weeks which worried me at first but I know now there really isn't a 'norm' where pregnancy is concerned.

Good luck and congratulations.

It's my first pcy (6 weeks)and i've been totally paranoid. Have read the symptoms for mc and ep and convinced that every twinge is something going wrong. Bad idea reading about the symptoms!! I've not have any pain or bleeding (just lots of burping!).

Just wish the doc had told me to expect something. It tends to feel like i'm about to have my period, plus other little aches.

So have decided to feel more positive (or will go mad).
