Congratulations Fairy!

I had exactly this gap between my 2! DS was due 10 days before DD's 1st birthday, but he was early - so 11 months between them!

To be honest there are pro's and cons with having them really close. Obviously it is hard work, and was sometimes a bit difficult getting out and about as DD still couldn't walk when DS was first born. However the good bits are that we were still very much in 'baby' mode, so it didn't really seem that much of a change to slot in another baby!

Mine are now 4 and 3, and they play brilliantly together, and are both pretty much into the same things. Most of the time I don't even know they are there! Well it certainly couldn't have been that manic, as DS2 is now 2.5 weeks old, and we certainly wouldn't have had another one if we couldn't manage with the other 2

Congratulations to you. As Kittykat said there are lots of Pro's & Cons. I found the first year really hard when the eldest started toddling (when you need eyes in the back of your head anyway), and didnt feel I gave DS2 as much attention as I did DS1 when he was a baby. I found a playpen invaluable, as a good high chair with a selection of toys to make sure feeding was uninterupted with the baby. They are now 5 & 4 and life is sooo nuce easier, they like the same toys, are great company when they go on holiday and some of their little "chats" to each other have me in stitches/crying as they are so sweet. A side by side buggy I found was quite good, but they sure can be heavy so test drive a few.

At the top of this page in blue it has "Acronyms", basically lazy expressions we commonly use, so DS - Dear Son, DD - Dear Daughter etc, this should enlighten you a bit. x
