I had this at about 8 weeks. It's not considered "normal" because then everyone who didn't get this would panic that they didn't have it but apparently it's very common - especially around the time you would have had your period i.e. 8 weeks and 12 weeks.

You just had a scan and all was okay so I wouldn't stress too much (easier said than done obviously!)

I had it last pg at 5, 8 and 16 weeks. No problems and dd is very lively now at 20 months [smille]

Hi ledkr I had spotting for 3 or 4 days at about 10 weeks and was absolutely panic-stricken. I'm now 20 +4, saw my son on Monday at my 20 wk scan and he is somersaulting away so all is well.

Try not to worry too much (I know that's easier said than done) - apparently it's very common and loads of my friends have experienced similar.

Hi

I still have this now and i'm 17 + 3 weeks bleeding started at 6weeks but have been told everything is fine baby is wriggly just nicely and reminds me of that at 5:30 in the morning!

vmcd28 · 29/07/2010 15:22

hiya, I had brown spotting at 8 weeks, then 11.5 weeks. I then had streaks of red blood at 12.5 weeks, just when I thought I could start relaxing.

Anyway, I'm not 23 weeks, and have had NOTHING like this - touch wood - since 12.5 weeks.

As Pickle said, it is not classed as "normal" but it is very common, apparently. The midwife at my 13w scan barely even acknowledged me mentioning it, as they hear about it all the time.

I'm not going to tell you not to worry, cos I worried all the time - and still do to some extent.
Best of luck!

ledkr im sure everything will be ok as me too had bleeding at 16 weeks am now 29 weeks. although does not however stop be from inspecting my tissue every time i wipe myself!!! if you think about it that can be up to 8 times a day which is an awful lot of inspecting!!! i am a natural born worrier and nothing is going to change that not even my toilet tissue!! so try to relax just like me!!!

With my first pregnancy I had the same brown spotting at 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 11 weeks. I was in complete meltdown and could not overcome the panic, even taking myself to A&E! I now have a gorgeous 21 month old son and all was perfectly fine.

Having since talked to others, it would seem a lot of people have experienced this. Try not to worry, sure it will be fine!

Good luck!
