Bleeding gums

Afternoon all,

Hope you are all well today!

I was wondering if anyone else is having really bad problems with their gums. I know it's normal to have problems with gums during pregnancy but the last week or so has been a nightmare. They seem to be ulcerated and very sore, and today all I can taste is blood (which is doing wonders for making me feel sick!).

The obvious thing is to see a dentist, I know. My sister is one, but she's all the way out in Australia. She's recommended medicated mouthwashes and salt-water mouthwashes etc etc but I guess I just needed a bit of a whinge about it because it's flippin annoying!

xx

Aww, I sympathise. Do see a dentist, don't forget it's free with maternity exemption.

I had really nasty bleeding gums for first 20wks has been better since just odd occasion now at 35wks.

I asked my dentist to prescribe some corsodyl as prescriptions are free as is the dentist when pregnant. Also I have seen him every 10-12wks for scale and polish which has helped with bleeding

Hi, I can sympathise too, my gums are in a right state - very sore and bleeding too. make sure you keep brushing and flossing and yes Corsodyl mouthwash is great too. Hope it improves for you. xx
