I am a little worried as over the past couple of days my face and eyelids have been swollen when I get up in the morning. It eases off slightly during the day but I feel like I look like the mitchelin man! My ankles and hands are a little swollen. I had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago with high BP and protein in my urine but was taken into daycare at hospital the next day and everything was ok. I don't want to phone the hospital unless it is an emergency so I though I'd ask for advice here first.

I am 36+4 by the way!

Thanks

hi you should phone up again. If your blood pressure has been a little high before and now you have facial swelling then def call today - worst that happens is you goin a get sent home again

Yes, I would see someone. I think given your background no one is going to think you are wasting time! What does your midwife say?

Thanks for replying so quickly! I have phoned the hospital and have to go in for a check up. They think it's probably nothing but best to be checked out I guess.

Get yourself seen by a midwife or GP asap. It might just be the heat but it's also the classic indicator for pre-exclampsia, which will need to be dealt with before it has a chance to become serious.

THanks for all your replies. Had BP and urine checked and everything is fine. The midwife said I did the right thing by going in so I don't feel too silly! Thanks for all your advice!

Glad to hear all OK. Was it just the heat then?
