E coli while pregnant

I just had a call from my MW and she told me that my urine sample is showing high levels of e coli. She was unconcerned and said that I need to have a course of antibiotics to get rid of it, and it's just to stop me from getting a UTI.

I'm fine with all of that but just want to check if this has happened to anyone else? Did it all go away? Any ongoing problems?! It would be really helpful to hear other people's experiences, I really want to put my mind at ease!

How strange. Not that I have a medical background or anything but I though e coli was really serious. Well it's good it's nothing to worry about and that it has been detected. Have you felt ill at all?
Sorry, I actually haven't experienced this (as i'm sure is obvious) but thought i'd give you a bump. I'm sure the antibiotics will clear it up though

Thanks SNV, it can be really serious (as from the petting farm story last year!) but apparently it's not actually in my bowel, it's just that there was a high level in my urine test. Spoke to the midwife again yesterday, then went to the GP for the antibiotics, and they both said that if I wasn't pregnant they wouldn't even be treating it. It's just that if you're pregnant it can lead to a UTI which is not good, so they treat automatically. They were both EXTREMELY relaxed about it (to the point that the midwife was making it very clear that she thinks they overtreat!) so I feel a lot better.

Thanks for your bump though, greatly appreciated!
