Head engaged.....

I'm 35+3 and went for a wellbeing scan this morning as I'm due to have an ELCS due to complications with delivery last time. Am due to be given a date for the CS next week, but the scan has revealed that the head is engaged and was sitting so low that they were unable to even measure the head - so was told to be prepared, and was asked whether my bags were packed (still not, better get on that) Any ideas on how long i can expect to still be pregnant for, or is this a matter of how long is a piece of string?! I went to 40+2 last time.....

Not sure, I'm 39+2 and was told last week that head was fully engaged. Still no twinges! As far as I knew you can be engaged for quite some time, likewise some people don't engage until labour.

The head being engaged can happen weeks ahead of birth. It's not unusual to be fully engaged at 35/36 weeks and then go on to full term.

It is a matter of how long is a piece of string unfortunately as its not an accurate prediction at all but I wouldn't worry too much.

Ok thanks all.....just going to start taking it a little bit easier from now on, have been insanely busy of late, time to sit tight I think!
