Not feeling as sick with this PG as I did when pg with DS - normal?

Am 6 weeks tomorrow (God Willing).

I have sore boobs, have gone off chocolate and sweet stuff, bloated etc but while I have had some green moments, do not feel half as bad as I did with DS

Is it normal to have a second pg that is totally different to the second symptom wise?

As bad as feeling sick was, at least it reassured me that all the hormones were there...but when I don't feel sick, I get a bit twitchy that all is progressing as it should be

PussinJimmyChoos congratulations

  • I think each pregnancy is very different .2nd time may be more worrying as you have more awareness .

hiya.

pregnancys can vary each time, so one you might feel terrible and the next you might feel great. and you may well start with the sickness soon sorry to say lol. mine started when i was 8 week and lasted quite sometime.

and congratulations on your little baby

I had terrible morning sickness with DS1. It truly made me miserable.

With Ds2 I had no sickness, not even any nausea.

Hevster · 27/07/2010 04:49

other way round for me, minimal sickness with DD1 and this time (another DD) I have hyperemesis. Definately more worried for the first 20 weeks this time than last time as loads more awareness of potential niggles and issues.

pinkpeony · 27/07/2010 10:53

With DS I had about 5-6 weeks of constant nausea, plus sore boobs, tiredness, bloating, constantly full bladder. Am now 14 wks with DC2 and have had no nausea, no bloating (have not gained any weight still), no sore boobs - just tiredness and constantly full bladder. Had nuchal scan and everything looks fine. Was also worried in the early weeks - but each pregnancy is different and just because you don't have nausea, doesn't mean there's a problem. Hope all goes well.

I had less sickness this time round. Which prompted lots of speculation that it was a girl (first is a boy). But it's not, it's another little boy. Also, it might not really kick in until about 7 weeks. Unless you have any other negative things going on try not to worry. Congratulations btw!

Agree with others, 6 weeks would be on the early side for normal MS to have kicked in. (HG usually starts earlier though, so could be a good sign you're not in for that!!)

Enjoy the not feeling sick, long may it last!

Soapsy · 27/07/2010 13:19

Every pregnancy is different, its still early days for it to kick in, and you're busy with no.1 so less opportunity to be 'self-indulgent' and allow the morning sickness to take over IYSWIM. (or at least, that's what I found, I was busy, busy, busy, and it was only when I paused that I thought actually I do feel sick. Oh well, onto the next task...)

stillsurprised · 27/07/2010 13:23

I had horrible moring sickness first time round starting around 6 weeks, this time got to 6 weeks feeling fine and thought I'd got away with it (and worried like mad that it was a bad sign). Then at 6 1/2 weeks it kicked in like anything and I regretted ever worrying!

Hope this time you're just going to have an easier time but it may still happen...

pussinjimmychoos I am the same gestation as you 6 weeks today. I haven't had any sickness just acid indegestion at 4 weeks. Only symptoms now are slightly sore boobs and tiredness.
come and join the march antenatal thread are you due on 22/3 aswell?

PussinJimmyChoos · 27/07/2010 22:10

Me - due 23/3 God Willing

Thanks for your reassurance.

Felt a teeny bit green this am and was so happy with that! Also found today that if I was hungry, I felt sick so again, was pleased with that! Mad I know but pyschologically, when you feel sick you think ahh, ok yes am def pg, hormones there etc!

One thing I am really struggling with this time is the bloat - I start the day feeling ok but by about 2pm I am so so uncomfortable

I am so grateful to be pg as taken two years to conceive this one but I want the 1st trimester over with to lessen the bloat as I am really struggling with it
