Hi please could someone tell me what happens at the pre admission appointment prior to elective cs. Do I need to take a urine sample etc???

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes, to urine sample.

Usual things like blood pressure, feeling for where baby is, sometimes you get introduced to the anesthetist, medical history, sign consent forms.

as dinah says
plus weight (for anaesthetic)
birth plan preferences (perhaps)
swabs for MRSA (nose, throat, groin - it's DIY so don't worry)

I didn't take a urine sample. I met the anaesthetist (sp?) and went through medical history. I was given a prescription for some acid tablets to take the night before and on the morning of my c section but that was about it. Oh i think they took some bloods but i had no other checks. Good luck, my elective was so lovely

Oh yeah i may have been weighed but my MRSA swabs were done at a gestational diabetes clinic appointment before the pre op.
