I was on here a week ago saying I had been leaking fluid. I went to the hospital and the consultant didn't even bother testing my fluid he just sent me home. It isn't urine. Well since then I am still leaking some days more heavy than others. I keep feeling sick, I have no appetite. I struggle to eat cereal for breakfast, I can manage fruit for lunch and struggle with dinner.
Today I have leaked alot and feel burning sore down below. I have had cronick diahoerra on and off for a weak. I am also really struggling with my breathing. Iis only ok if I lay on my side.

Any ideas. I am going to ring my midwife tomorrow.

TBH I would ring the labour ward today and insist on being admitted and checked over, and I speak as someone who avoids hospitals as much as possible.

This doesn't sound right though, its possible you have an infection of some sort and it needs checking out ASAP.

How far along are you? I agree, you should phone your maternity ward and ask to come in to be checked. If you think they may try to put you off, phone NHS24 as they ALWAYS send pregnant people to be checked at the maternity hospital no matter what the symptoms

I am nearly 34 weeks with my 4th.

Have you phoned the maternity ward or NHS24? I really think you should. Even if it turns out there's nothing wrong, you definitely need some reassurance. Also, if this is your 4th, you know the drill by now, if it doesn't feel right to you then you need to get it checked out.

I would go to labour ward NOW and insist on being seen. I don't want to scare you but you could have chorioamnionitis which is dangerous to both you and the baby. Good luck and keep us updated.

I'd go straight into your maternity hospital if I was you, sounds like it could be an infection which can be bad for the baby as well as you.

My local hospital were lovely last PG, I went in at ~34 weeks because I was seeing flashing lights, they admitted me really quickly to check me over.

CheeseandGherkins · 25/07/2010 12:28

That sounds very wrong. My waters went at 22 weeks with my last baby and they admitted me and kept a very close eye the rest of the pregnancy, weekly scans and blood tests, weekly consultant appointments, steroids, anti biotics, swabs etc. I had a slow leak and they didn't need to "test" the fluid as such, it's not an accurate way to test whether it's amniotic fluid or not. They checked my with a speculum and saw fluid leaking from my cervix. After that they didn't want to do any unnecessary examinations because of the risk of infection.

Everything worked out thankfully but now I'm 18 weeks with my 4th and I've already seen a consultant because of previous problems and am going for a swab and another appt at 28 weeks.

Definitely go back in and insist on being seen. It's a long time to be leaking for and you're at high risk of infection.

Well I have just got out of hospital. I went in and by that time I was contracting. I had keytones and protein in my urine. Which I had the last time I went in and they sent me home. Well this time I saw a different doctor. They rang through to special care to make sure there was room for my little one. Turns out I had a major urine infection that had spread to my kidneys. I was eating and drinking but still had keytones. So was put on a drip and iv meds. Luckily the contractions calmed down.

Well thye have sent me home and I am still very ill. I can barely stand up and move about due to feeling like I want to collapse. My back is still killing me. I feel bruised down below and when I was in hospital I had a green/yellow discharge which they didn't say much about. I am really sore down below still. I have my community midwife today so will see what she says.

I will still keep you posted.
