If I'm measuring 34cms at 31 wks shouldn't they be sending me for a growth scan?

Just got measured at my 31 week appointment, and got a fundal height of 34cms (and measured 35cm by the student midwife). This seems like a huge jump as I was 29cm at 28 weeks.

My usual midwife told me if there was a jump that I would be sent for a growth scan. Unfortunately she was on holiday for the 31 wk appointment so I saw a different midwife. I asked if this could be a sign of gestational diabetes and said no nothing to worry about I'd only be worried if you were measuring small!

Am now worrying about huge baby and having undiagnosed GD, esp as I don't get measured til 34 weeks and it seems like I'm getting closer and closer to the end date.

When I went to my 28 week appointment the midwife was concerned that I was measuring small but she said that they give you 2cm so she's going see me in 2 weeks to check me again and then if it's still the same she will send me for a scan.

I do think that they should be sending you for a scan as it's quite a big difference. I would try and see if you can see your normal midwife when she's back from hols before 34wks it will put your mind at rest either way or see your gp.

if it helps the midwives around here dont measure women anymore as the measurements are so unreliable. Also as you can see by the two midwives that measured you the other day (even though one was a student) there measurements came up different unless you have the same person measuring you you can go on I was X at X weeks and this now the other midwife may measure from a completely different place.

I really wouldnt worry to much I am sure you had a urine test done to and if they didnt find andthing in your water its unlikely to be GGT

i was measured 38.5cm at 39 weeks. is that the right size?
