period like pains

Has anyone had period like pains during early pregnancy? I'm only 12 weeks and have had what feel like uterus like contraction pains down below- I don't remember getting them with my first pregnancy (until labour of course!) am thinking could be my uterus stretching?

any similar experiences would be reassuring! thx

Yes. Had them pretty much all the way through with DS (DC2). He was a big baby and thought it was a good idea to lie transverse until 34 weeks so a fair bit of stretching needed.

Yes I had them too, think they are more noticeable 2nd time round. Not sure though.

my daughter had them and backache aswell,midwife said as long as there is no spotting its all normal stretching of the ligaments.x
