Sharp pain when rolling over - normal?....

Sorry if this has already been discussed but I just wanted to check....

I'm 18+2 and last night I went to roll over from lying down to being on my side (I did it both ways) and I got a sharp pain round about my appendix line on the opposite side to which I was rolling. It made me gasp but then went.

Is it normal? Is it just ligament pain?
I am having some ligament pain especially if I stand up from having been sat down for a while. But I'm worried I've done something horrific like detached the placenta

I've had no pain or bleeding or anything today.

Neurotic....me?.....

I had this as well, only on second pregnancy though, if I rolled over in one move, had to start doing it in about 3 stages. Just assumed it was everything being more loose.
Maybe mention it to your midwife if you are worried though

I had this alot my midwife said it was just muscles being stretched. If it only happens whe rolling over i wouldn't worr too much

Thanks louii. I've got my anomaly scan in just under 2 weeks and if I get it again I'll give my mw a bell to check.
So hard not to be paranoid about everything tho

I get this and did when preg with DD too. In the exact place you describe.

I've always put it down to wind, bowel pressure and things moving and stretching. Just because your bowel is the bit of your insides that has to move out of the way first and it has to squeeze past your growing uterus rather than just move up into your lung space.

As with anything, if you are worried go see your mid wife, that's what they're there for.

I'm 34 weeks- have had lots of similar pains like (particularly around 18 weeks) and the mw said all was fine it's just ligaments. All scans have been fine so far, and am sure you will be too. You can always go down to your maternity triage unit anytime you're concerned- they have eased my concerns on a couple of occassions and always happy to do so.

I get this all the time. The last time, I was lying on the floor on my back, tried to sit up, muscle pulled, pain was excrutiating and I couldn't move or get up. OH just stood there looking over me shouting "save the whale....save the whale".
