sac in scan at 6 weeks

[Niggles]

..Just a sac, couldn't see anything inside it. Am booked in for another scan at 7 weeks. Midwife implying it might just be too small yet, but is this just BS? Anyone only see a sac at 6 weeks and go on to have a baby?

I had a scan at 5+6 and could just see a sac, I was worried to as previous preg I had seen a hb at this stage! But I went for another scan at 7 weeks and it was all there. I am 10 weeks now.

I think it depends on the person doing the scanning tbh and how experienced they are

I went for a scan with ds (now 3) at what I thought was 8wks. Only a sac so they said could be my dates were wrong, come back in 10 days. I spent 10 days . Went back to find heartbeat going like the clappers! So I was

Another one with just sac at 5+6, very depressed Christmas and New Year 5th Jan at 7+1 hb and everything normal. Currently kicking me.

I had a 6 week scan to rule out an ectopic. They saw the gestational sac and the yolk sac, but no baby.

On Monday I went back for an 8 week scan and now I have a baby with heart beating away.

What you see at 6 weeks varies hugely, literally day to day. You could scan somebody one day and see nothing, 2 days later you could see something. Everything is so small. I was told by my sonographer that it was pefectly normal not to see the baby at that point. Please don't give up hope yet.

I had a scan at 6 weeks + to rule out ectopic too. There was only a sac, and they dated me at 4.5 weeks. I thought everything was over. She is soon to be 6 months and napping in her cot.

I had a scan at 5 or 6 weeks (sorry pregnancy brain has well and truly kicked in) and could only see a sac, had a scan elsewhere the following week and could see the foetal pole and heartbeat. Now 11 weeks. Fingers crossed for you - I'm sure it'll be fine. [hopeful emoticon]

Definitely feeling a little bit more positive after all these comments (albeit in a cautious and pessimistic way )

Update - just wanted to let you know that my scan today showed a heartbeat. Thank you for all your stories, and best of luck with your children/pregnancies.
