Cramps at 13 weeks?

miamix · 22/07/2010 10:21

I had some minor cramps at 10 weeks, then before that nothing since 6 weeks. Now 13 weeks and mild-painful cramps happening again, last night and this morning.

Is this normal? The cramps are very low down and are AF-ish. Not like anything I've had previously.

Please reassure me, worried

No bleeding or anything else unusual "down there" btw.

Sorry to hear you're going through this worry.

Have you had a scan yet? If you have, and have seen the heartbeat etc, then chances are all is fine.

Can you contact your EPU? failing that your GP?

I would try to get it checked out purely for reassurance.

Hope all is fine for you.

Hi miamix, I'd get in touch with your midwife at 13 weeks don't think you'll qualify for EPU. Was everything ok at your 12 week scan? To put your mind at rest I have cramps like this daily since about 6w and also had spotting up until 12w. I seriously feel like I'm having the longest period ever with all the cramps! Midwife and Dr. seem to put it down to 'growing pains' and never seem overly concerned, though get a Dr appointment and she/he should try doppler to put your mind at ease.

Olivia, I have had a scan and heartbeat was present, all was fine, am I just being paranoid? Thanks for your comment.

Planner, yes as above everything good with 12 week scan. Maybe it's ok, as on another forum many women have mentioned they are having cramps intermittently at all stages. I actually have a doppler but I think it's crap because it hasn't worked yet! Anyway thanks for your comment, it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one.

Maybe worth speaking to your midwife to put your mind at rest.

With my first, I had on off cramping pains, exactly like AF for 4 months. DS is 2.5 and fine!

Hi miamix, I'm 14+2 and have had some sort of crampy/achey feelings very low in pelvis. I noticed it was worse after weeing so went to doctor and it's likely I have a UTI (leukocytes in my urine) and have been put on antibiotics. Just something else to consider. I felt quite sure it was my bladder though as was very low down - lower than I ever got menstrual cramps. HTH
