Hi there,

I'm 34 weeks 6 days pregnant and on Saturday ended up going to the hospital as I was feeling so unwell- blurry vision, feeling dizzy, mild headache. They checked my blood pressure and it was high at 156 over 92, they did a urine test and no protein. Baby was fine so they sent me home. Come Monday I was still feeling awful so saw my gp, still high blood pressure at 150 over 88 and now there was protein and blood in my urine. She called my gynae and I went into see him. He checked placental function and said baby is totally ok and sent me off for blood tests. I woke up this morning with a killer headache and just feeling off so I took it upon myself to get bp checked at pharmacy and it was 150 over 80. When the gynaes receptionist phoned with my results- which are all ok- I told her I'm still feeling yuk and what my bp is and that I want to speak to the dr, he's not called me back yet and I'm quite concerned and angry. I mean I feel awful my bp is up I've had a headache all day and nothing helps to get rid of it. I'm feeling uncared for by them and like I'm just being a paranoid patient. I guess I'm asking should I be worried about this or just trust the dr that all is ok?

Sorry this is so long. I'm really quite scared. Thanks so much.

Are you in the UK?

Tootiredforgodtyping · 20/07/2010 22:05

If you are in the UK you need to call your midwife or gynae and get seen and get your bloods done too to check its not hellp syndrome. You could also call the delivery suite at your hospital and they will help you. If you feel shit make sure you get seen and don't get fobbed off....

Please dont let them fob you off, demand to be seen, call your midwife. My MW ignored me with DS1 and I ended up very poorly. Wont scare you with details, but I was ignored for 3 weeks until my partner found me lying in my own sick in the toilet and rushed me in.

You need to be moniterd very carefully.. good luck x

Thanks so much for your responses. I'm not in the UK, I'm in cape town. The public health care here is pretty nasty so I'm seeing private doctors etc. I still have a headache so am off to get bp checked again and call the doctor to demand he sees me today. Will keep you updated! X
