eyesight change in pregnancy?

I'm short-sighted, and have noticed my vision becoming worse since I've been pregnant. I wear contacts and can see fine in them to read, but distance vision is a bit ropey. Oddly, my vision seems better in glasses even though they are the same prescription.

Any chance this could be a weirdy temporary pregnancy thing, or am I going to have accept that I am just rapidly ageing?

ooh, thanks. problem is that I drive for work, so if it does get worse I might need some new specs even just for a couple of months.

The only other thing I would say is I got gestational diabetes, and visual disturbance had to be my main symptom. Just a thought, maybe worth checking.

thanks. I'm reasonably confident it's not GD, as it's worsening of distance vision only, rather than blurring.

Yup I wear contacts and went in for a checkup as I was sure my prescription had got worse. I was told that the eye changes shape slightly during pregnancy which can affect eyesight through contacts. Should go back within a few months after the birth.

I was told not to bother changing the prescription, just wear glasses more often! I was also checked for GD which I don't have. HTH.

I have this too and was thinking of seeing optician. More that it takes about an hour for my eyes to wake up properly in the morning.
