Kidney infection / UTI - any experience?

Having been to the midwife and consultant yesterday it seems like I have one of the above. I have to wait for the results but I am likely to be given antibiotics when I go back to the midwife to see whats wrong.

Does anyone have any experience of this at around 34 weeks?

During my previous pregnancy, the HCPs think my labour was brought on by a UTI. And a friend of a friend recently had her little one 8 weeks early due to a UTI.

Does anyone know how common it for something like this to bring on labour?

I am slightly worried as we are due to go on holiday on Thursday down to Cornwall!!

Any comments would be welcome!!

bump

When pg with DS, I was very prone to kidney infections, which laid me up with pain in my back (now I know they were my kidneys! lol)

Each time, it was diagnosed immediately with pee and a dipstick, and I was given antibiotics. Carried DS to 41 weeks, and was induced.

I had various infections in the week leading up to and also after my birth, UTI included.

I think if it's caught early enough, and treated, you should be ok (not a medical prof though, just personal opinion)

Drink plenty too. I think that's where I went wrong last time.

Park,
Thank you for that!
Have no idea how long I might have had this possible infection as I haven't seen the midwife for nearly a month.
I just want to know how likely it is to bring on prem labour!!
