...from the pregnancy symptoms you suffer. I know the answer is no, but it would be interesting to hear whether those with girls had different experiences to those who carried girls. Also whether those who have had one of each had completely different pregnancies!

I'm due in 9 weeks and at the moment DH and I both feel/think/guess it to be a girl.
It has been quite different to DS1+2 pregnancies from eating different things to carrying this massive belly differently so maybe our prediction will be correct.......not long to wait now I suppose.

BTW a few weeks ago I was convinced we were having another boy so to be honest I haven't got a clue

Am on my second - but this is such a different pregnany that I'm guessing I'm having a girl (I really don't mind either way, and i know this thread will haunt me ....)
First pregnancy - put on lot's of weight, was not too sick and felt quite good.
this time - really suffered from morning sickness, have put on very little weight and am exhausted all the time.

then again, my GP said in her experience people can have very different pregnanies with same sex children, so it's not an indicator.

LucieB, are you expecting?

eefs · 22/07/2003 10:36

meant to add that the first pregnancy resulted in a boy.

I had a boy first time and put on no extra weight-completeley unlike me. This pregnancy I was sure it was a girl as I have put on loads of weight and baby seems so different to first, but I was told at 20 weeks that it was another boy. I still don't quite beleieve it and I'm holding back from buying blue things until after the birth.

Sorry about the spelling, my brain has turned to mush with lack of sleep.

Lucie B, I dunno about the pregnancy symptoms, cos I was told I must be having a girl because I felt so ill all the way through but actually was carrying ds! Both me and my sister in law craved orange juice and she too had a boy. The only foolproof method I've ever known for guessing the sex is by the shape etc of your bump. Boy babies seem to make round football shapes - big or small - and all at the front. Girl bumps always seem to spread round the sides a little. Well, I've always found I've guessed right using this old wives tale type method! I had a wonderful boy bump.
