Me too! When are you due?

marmitelover · 16/07/2010 19:57

In the same boat ladies! Been off for 2 days and seriously, TV is no solace. I find planning to meet people for a coffee or lunch nicely structures the day. Thinking of organising some old photos next week and maybe washing all the baby clothes ... after that, I'm stumped!

PickleSarnie · 16/07/2010 19:58

So jealous! How many weeks have you got left before B-day?

marmitelover · 16/07/2010 19:58

I've got just under 3 ... assuming that baby arrives spot on time

poppy283 · 16/07/2010 20:01

I've got 5 weeks left, I have a little handmade online jewellery shop which will keep me occupied until about 38 weeks, plus defrosting the freezer, washing baby clothes, cleaning and tidying the place, etc, and of course lounging...

poppy283 · 16/07/2010 20:02

(... I mean 5 weeks left until due date)

PickleSarnie · 16/07/2010 20:17

I have 6 weeks left until I leave for maternity leave - am green with envy that you're all on it now. I'm scared of getting bored from 37 weeks onwards but I'm sooooo done with work now. Staying awake is proving so hard.

ethelina · 16/07/2010 20:17

Well thanks to mildy dodgy bp I have 6 whole weeks - the entire summer in fact. Planned that well eh? Weekends sorted with family and friends, and going away next with DH to Brighton for a family do but its the weekdays that i need to fill. Like the idea of planning day around a bit of lounging and lunches, and swimming, have already organised the baby stuff, bit of shopping left to do etc> Could take up knitting i suppose...

I've had three weeks off so far, EDD is a week on Sunday. I have been fairly busy, meeting friends for coffee, midwife appointments, swimming, washing baby clothes, MNetting, pottering, sorting out messy drawers, listening to my hypnobirthing CD, going to the library etc, but have also done plenty of sleeping and generally lazing around. Not bored just yet thank you!

poppy283 · 17/07/2010 09:12

Thanks ethelina! It's bambiandsnowflake.etsy.com

Have a pedicure, ladies. There's a lot of extra weight on your feet at the moment, and sparkly toes will give the MW something pretty to look at...

Pavlov · 17/07/2010 09:26

I found I had too much to do! cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, bit of throwing up, sleeping, sleeping, cleaning, sleeping, cleaning, sleeping, sleeping. No time to watch tv

Pavlov · 17/07/2010 09:26

good luck btw. I am nearing the end of my maternity leave, it has gone too fast.

palmtreeparadise · 17/07/2010 11:10

I found my maternity leave with DD1 among the most boring weeks of my life, it's never the same again after LO is born though, you will never know the meaning of the word bored again lol x

MiniMarmite · 17/07/2010 11:19

I had about 6 weeks last time (which turned into 8 as DS was late) and I'm going to have nearly 3 months this time but only two days a week without DS to look after.

Last time I:

  • met antenatal group for coffee, lunch etc
  • met work colleagues and other friends for lunch
  • got everything absolutely ready for DS's arrival
  • put loads of food in the freezer
  • went swimming
  • went for (what felt like) long walks
  • had a nap every day
  • baked scones (and then ate them)
  • read some books
  • watched Doctors

Was lovely for a few weeks but I did get a bit bored after a while!

ethelina · 17/07/2010 12:06

Right girls. Plan of action starts monday (i'm having the weekend off)
Total houseclean
Learn to cook great food and cakes and freeze some
Start making list of stuff i still need to buy (everything except furniture and buggy and car seat)
Go out and buy it!

Then: Swimming, lunch, pedicure (like that one!) and sleep it all off!

Well thats monday planned anyway...
