Both myself and my 18mth daughter were exposed to HFM 3 days ago on Tuesday. I am almost 39 weeks pregnant and I have a C-section booked for 10 days time. So the baby could come at anytime.
I am obviously concerned I may have it but also worried that my daughter will have it and then possibly pass it onto my newborn before she shows any symptons. A friend of mine lost her baby when it was 10 days old last year from the Herpes cold sore virus, so this is obviously making me very anxious.
Does anyone know if there is a blood test available to test for the HFM antibodies?
I have phoned the hospital but nobody could really help me.
