Should I Be Worried

I am 32 wks pregnant and have had sharp stabbing pains on and off for a few weeks now. They are so bad I can't move and end up in tears. However recently my midwife said the baby hadn't grown in over a week. She is monitoring me every 2 wks so will see her next week.
The thing that is worrying me is I can just about feel my baby move. The movements are so light it is like when you first feel them move. I also keep getting wet down below. When my other children rest their head gently on me it really hurts my bump. I'm not very big the smallest I've ever benn and this is my 4th pregnancy. I never had this with the others. I am disabled and have no transport at the moment so don't want to make unnesscessary trips. I think shall I just wait till I see the midwife next week.

When I go for a wee I feel like I am open.

Any advice or help would be greatfully received. I come on here first to amke sure I'm not a neurotic woman panicking about nothing.

You are worried, so why don't you phone your labour ward / delivery suite - the number should be on the front of your notes - and talk it over with a midwife on duty? If they think it's wise, you could go in to be assessed.

I didn't know whether the fluid was low and that was why my bump hurt as there is nothing around her. I know I'm speculating. My friend lost her waters but it wasn't a gush or a trickle it was a little here and there and she was induced at 38 wks.

Go get checked out asap. if you feel like you are losing amniotic fluid it is important you get it checked. I also felt wet below at times and thought it was nothing but went to check it out and my waters were broken. There was no gush or anything and to this day i dont know how long my waters had been leaking for. My DS, now 5 weeks was born by c section that same day!

guiltyandfedup · 16/07/2010 17:50

if you have noticed a change in your babies movements then PLEASE contact your labour ward/antenatal team right away, especially as you might be losing amniotic fluid as well.

You have nothing to lose by getting checked out.

Well had pains in the night and felt a trickle. Then took me ages to get out of bed this morning due to stabbing pain. I went and emptied my bladder. Got one breakfast for me and DS that was up when I felt wet again. Checked and had a wet big wet patch again. Baby moved a bit stronger last night. Had a rubbish nights sleep.

Just felt myself down below (I know TMI) and I had a load of snot type stuff come away in my hand. I was so wet to the touch. While I sit I can feel little pops and when I move and bend I feel wetter and wetter.

I know I should ring hospital but I am at home alone with the kids. My dad, partner and mum are at work and everyone who at home doesn't drive. Like I said I have no transport at the mo. My partner travels all over the place so he isn't local. Don't know whether to wait till my mum finished work this afternoon.

Dannii, please phone your labour ward, I really think you should get checked out. Do you have a neighbour who could watch you children?

I'm sure someone can leave work for an hour and come and give you a lift to the hospital. You and your babies health is the most important thing right now!

Thinking of you (un -mumsnet hug )

lifeinthesun · 17/07/2010 08:39

pls then call an ambulance or taxi . If your waters have broken then both you and your baby are at risk of infection that could be very serious. The longer you wait to get it checked out the greater ther risk. Pls call now and explain your situation. get a cab and take the kids with you. This is an emergency. they will understand

danniied13 · 17/07/2010 08:43

I will ring. It doesn't smell like urine it smells sweet. A bit like semen. Which it most definately not.

hope your ok, def get yourself checked. I lost nearly all my waters and always felt a little wet but thought it was poor bladder control

adanaivy · 17/07/2010 10:24

yes dont wait for your next appointment bec ause if any thing is wrong it would be to late to do any thing about it but try not panic to much you need to stay calm as possible for your babies sake when your stressed baby is stressed ring your labour ward and tell them what is happening dont take no for an answer

adanaivy · 17/07/2010 10:28

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 21/07/2010 16:37

any news?

danniied13 · 22/07/2010 16:37

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. have been having a bad few days. Well it was a waste of time going to the hospital. He didn't test to see if it was my waters he just had a look. I told him about the pains and pink discharge and mucus. He didn't say anything. Just sent me home. My urine was orange and nothing got said about that either.
I rang my midwife when I got back and she was gobsmacked. She said it is probably my hind waters that keep leaking. She is concerned about the pain she said if could be an infection. She said to ring her if I need her.

On another note I had a letter come today from the hospital telling me I have an appointment to see the aneasetist on the 10th. I have no idea what for. My friends seem to think it is for a c-section but I nothing about that.
