Winding myself up about screening!

Hi All,

Sorry just need to do something to distract me from waiting!!

Had my 12week scan on monday and it was all fine (dating at 12+2) got a NT measurement of 1.3 so was happy with that They took bloods and said that I would be called by them with the screening results within 2 days.

Well its friday now and no call . . Tried calling them and just get an answer phone. Left messages but I just feel like its bad news because its taking so long

Feel like I'm just being crap for no reason but getting scared

it's more likely that they screwed up the test - dropped/lost your bloods for example, than they are delaying the results because it's bad news. And maybe the lab has just had a very, very busy week and they are behind - the results will probably come on Monday!

Did they say they would call you regardless? I was told they would call if there were any major concerns, if not there'd be a letter in the post. This is probably the case in many places so I wouldn't worry. No news is good news- they would tell you/get back to you if it wasn't

Called the midwife today and she said they should call regardless of good or bad news and yes it did seem to be taking its time but all she could do was give me another number to call (answerphone)

Oh well guess I wait till monday and try again . . Thanks for the replies

If it's bad news they call you ASAP as they need to book you in to discuss the results with a consultant.
