Since waking this morning I have had a sort of 'pain' in my stomach. Pain is probably too strong a word, but it feels like a washing machine in my stomach - a bit like when you have an upset stomach or have mild period pains.

To start with I thought it was the baby just moving around (I'm 21 +5) but not sure it would be moving that much all day long! that would be very unusual for me.

As this is my first time being pregnant, I am not sure what is a 'normal' symptom/pain and what needs to be checked out by a midwife.

I know it is a bit vague, but could any expereinced mums who have had this before or know what I am talking about help me out here. Obviously I do not expect full on medical advice (unless you happen to be a doctor!) but I don't want to be neurotic over something perfectly normal.

Thanks

I started to get a sharp pain low down in my right side, and also started to get a few crampy feelings as well around this time. After a quick look on the internet, I gathered that it was just muscles stretching/ getting bigger. Pretty much like what I had right at the beginning of my preg. I'm now 29+4 and baby's heartbeat has been fine since then, and plenty of kicking going on so all is well.

Unsure if these are the types of pain you're feeling, but if you are unsure or want to be on the safeside, ring your midwife, who may ask you to go and see her. Better to be safe than sorry, so whatever you would feel is best. Good luck
