Pregnancy Constipation

its NOT funny or fair that I am so bloated that my stomach is about 10 times its usual size or that I go every 4 days if I'm lucky.

Sorry just needed to off load that.

It is absolutely horrible I agree. Constipation made me feel so run down and yuk. I was also really stressed about being near a loo and having time to go properly.

Does anything help? I tried lactulose after various other methods and it did really help.

GinaFB · 14/07/2010 15:29

I am eating all sotrs of helpful things, kiwis, prunes etc to no avail I can't stomach orange juice so i'm going to be buying a large bottle of lactolose I think!!

Just very annoying and uncomfortable!!

Alicetheinvisible · 14/07/2010 16:29

Pressed apple juice - the whole bottle!

Fibre, fruit and pints and pints of water.

Sorry if you are already doing this but I thought I'd mention it as it works for me.

japhrimel · 14/07/2010 16:53

Fibre supplements can help - e.g. Benefibre. I wouldn't get Fybogel - it can actually worsen bloating!

Poledra · 14/07/2010 16:55

Liquorice, from your local friendly health food shop.

GinaFB · 14/07/2010 17:03

Thank you ladies, I have tried the apricots and lots and lots of water! Arrgh its a nightmare!

Liquorice I will be trying tomorrow!!!

japhrimel can I buy Benefibre from boots? (I can't handle Fybogel anyway the taste makes me puke!!!!)
