When should I feel movement with an anterior placenta?

Hi. I am almost 23 weeks and have not really felt any definite movement as yet. I feel what could be movement but very easily could be gas. I have an anterior placenta so was told it would be later on before I felt movement but I thought that meant around 20 weeks. And now as I approach 23 weeks still nothing.

I am not really worried because we had our 20 week scan and all was fine, but the more time marches on, I am starting to have a niggling worry that maybe something is now wrong.

Thanks!

Very, very common not to have felt much at this stage. There's no 'should' about it. It's also very easy to mistake early movements for something else.

I had an anterior placenta and could feel the popping/bubbly sensations from 17 weeks but kicks were around 24 weeks. You'll feel things soon enough.

I am 23+4 with Dc2 and also have an anterior placenta. I've been feeling kicks from about 20wks but mainly because baby seems to be using my kidneys and bladder as football training! I can't put my hand on my tummy and 'feel' movement yet.

The 'gas' you've been feeling is probably your baby. I'm sure you'll start to feel more definate movement soon. I don't think I really felt Dc1 until 25/26wks and I had a low, anterior placenta with him too.

Thanks! This is my first so I am probably not sure what is baby movement and what is stomach rumblings. There is definite pops or bubbles but it often after I have eaten so not that different from what I would normally feel, except probably just more often. Always when I am sitting down as well.

Ok, well I will stop worrying and patiently wait another week or so and then hopefully things will happen. My stomach is definitely starting to pop out, so at least I know he is still growing!

I had an anterior placenta with my second baby and felt tiny movements about 17 weeks and definite kicks about 20 weeks. BUT he was my second baby and they say you feel movements earlier with second children.

I believe I have an anterior placenta at the mo and I am coming up for 18 weeks, and the same as OP. I had twins first time round and felt them at 15+5, so worried here too, but get to hear the haertbeat every two weeks (pre-eclampsia last time) so that reassures me, but it is a worrying time isn't it, you think, was that a kick, or a fart brewing??!!
