I'm 34 weeks and I have piles. Wow, great

What can I do about it? I need to be able to sit down! It's becoming more uncomfortable by the day, I'm currently reduced to going commando as pants are irritating me more and sitting here right this minute at my PC on my 4 year olds swimming ring, much to her amusement.

Please help if anyone has advice/remedies! And do they ever go away? Will they get worse when I give birth? Will dignity ever be mine again?!

I won't answer your last questions as I don't wish to disappoint you.

However!

Pile ointment actually works. Be free with it, it is your friend and will be for a fair bit.

THen gradually your body will resume normal service, piles included.

A warm shower directed at the relevant area and a gentle pat dry is very soothing.

Even some Waitrose bottom butter regularly applied when the piles aren't killing you will keep your rear end in order.

I went to GP yesterday and she happily wrote me a script for Anusol HC - a hydrocortisone cream to reduce them fast - and spared me the humiliation of dropping my drawers for a look Love that woman!

Oooh and avoid toilet roll - use baby wipes instead whilst you're sore! Much less painful!

Cheers guys! I will be off to GP/chemist/both in the morn, my daughter wants her rubber ring back!

And as for the baby wipes, I was doing that anyway! Nice and cold lol! I want my nice, non-hurty bum back!
