My friend had some bleeding yesterday, had a scan and heart still beating away but she is really worried. She is signed off work and will have another scan on Friday.

I know that a lot of people experience bleeding during pregnancy, and I am going to send her a link to this thread to entice her onto MN.

I hope that she can distract herself and keep herself AWAY FROM GOOGLE.

Anyone had bleeding in pregnancy and gone on to have a normal pregnancy and birth? Any tips for her?

Am off to work now, but just to say that I bled (very heavily at some points) throughout my pregnancies with DS1 and 2. Suffice to say they're here (and getting nagged to get ready for school atm!) I never got a proper reason for it, huge raft of possibilities, but no definitive 'this is it' reason. It was horrible and stressful and distraction is good.

Best wishes to your friend, and I hope everything goes well.

Hi it's me - the friend :-)
I'm now just 6weeks +6 days.
Had some brownish spotting yesterday and stomach cramps.
Cramps/tummy pains are still there today.
Really don't know if this is miscarriage but even saw heartbeat last night on the scan.
I'm so worried.
Thanks x

I can still remember that feeling of lying on my bed thinking, if I don't move than nothing will happen and everything will be OK, so I don't pretend that I can stop you worrying, but brown is old and could be down to an implantation bleed. Heartbeat is awesome! As long as you're getting that, nothing else matters (first bleed with DS2 soaked my jeans halfway down my thighs, seeing his heartbeat was fantastic)

I don't know how it works where you are (I presume you live near MmeLindt?) but keep haunting the EPAU. IME they are happy to reassure you with scans as long as you're not there every day.

FWIW I had a m/c between DS2 and DD and I think they work differently - once I had pain and bleeding that was it, scans showed it was all over.

Take it easy, and make sure you look after yourself!

Morning Choccybick (love the name btw)

The fact that you saw a heartbeat is very encouraging. Try not to stress too much (easier saiid than done)

Yep, both pregnancies. And my blood ranged from brown through to red. Hope all goes well. No pain is a good sign, but in early pregnancy, you do get twinges anyway. x

Hi
I live in Germany, so no emergency pregnancy unit here. My gynaecologist is sick but I happen to live across a big field from the local hospital, which is practical, considering it takes about 6 sets of traffic lights and 10 mins to drive there as my street is on a one way dead end road. Anyway .... That's not why I'm writing :-)
So have been there again just before.
I started to bleed really badly like a period this morning. red with blobby dark bits. Sorry for TMI. Jumped in shower. Dh came home from work and across the field we went.
The doc could still see the sac and embryo but we couldn't detect a heartbeat like last night, sooooo it looks like it's a bad sign.
They sent me home again. Have to go back if it gets worse. If not I'm back there in the morning so they take another look.
I cried my heart out this morning but i've calmed down now.
She explained how there are options : either letting nature take it's course or having it cleaned out ( think it's a D&C in English). Explained that after about 6 days should be gone if it really is a miscarriage. I could then get a heavy period and could conceive again. Otherwise the other = a few months.

My dh is being really supportive.
My hope is not yet lost but coming to terms with reality a bit easier.

Thanks x

So sorry, Choccybick. I was so hoping that all would be fine.

Will call you later.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Hope that tomorrow is okay.

My best friend bled sometimes heavily through pregnancy and everything is fine but another friend lost hers.

Thinking of you x
