You will be fine do you want this pregnancy? My sis had c section and was pregnant again 7 months later her Dr said congrats do you want to try for a natural birth this time round so on that I would say you will be fine if this is what you want my DN are the best of friends

midnightexpress · 12/07/2010 17:35

I got pg 5 months after my 1st CS and was absolutely fine.

Tiaxx31 · 12/07/2010 17:35

I am so scared in case it comes out positive. I have made a appointment for the doctor but i can't get in till fri. Just so i can find out what is what and if i am, if i am allowed to carry the baby or not. As i haven't a clue if it would be safe enough or not as friends say 1 and a 1/2 years you have to wait to have another baby. But believe me i didn't plan this, god no. As i am with my baby 24/7 and wouldn't plan another one just yet, if ever as i ahve 2 children now already

I had ds1 by emergency c-section and then ds2 naturally 12 months later.

You will be fine.

balletmoo · 12/07/2010 17:37

I'm pregnant with my first, so I have no experience of this, but I can tell you that I was delivered by C-section and my mother was pregnant again in less than a year. Her consultant never indicated to her that there would be any kind of problem... and that was over 30 years ago!!

I am sure that you will be fine, and that there will be no reason at all for you to have to terminate...

xx

Tiaxx31 · 12/07/2010 17:39

Thanks everybody, put my mind at ease now. Will let you know on fri what she says xx

They say wait a year, but I know several women who havent and who have been fine. I know one woman who had her second c-section when her first child was 10 months old.

Rafwife · 12/07/2010 17:42

You'll be fine, you won't be told to get rid of the baby.

If it helps the biggest risk I was always told was if you delivered within a year, so you'd have fallen pregnant within 3 months ifyswim.

This will be my 4th section ;)

Tiaxx31 · 12/07/2010 17:45

omg... thats a bit quick! nice for the children tho to be close together. I suppose its ok if you have family but me and my partner are on our own, no family apart from our children. I don't know what i would say to my poor sister tho as i felt bad telling her about the last pregnancy 7 months ago. Blimey to tell her again i think would break her heart in a way as she has been trying for years to have a baby of her own but doesn't happen. And then there would be me popping them out. If only they could have a baby too. x

So if i am. Does that mean i can't have a normal delivery as my 1st child was born 15 years ago and that was normal delivery but my 2nd child 7 months ago had to be c- section due to him being breech. So does that mean i have to go through all this aweful c- section again?

IndigoSky · 12/07/2010 17:50

No. I had ds2 naturally 12 months after I had ds1 by em section.

midnightexpress · 12/07/2010 17:52

No it doesn't. The doctor may try to persuade you but my consultant was happy to let me try for a vaginal birth after a CS - if you do a search for VBAC on here you'll get loads of information about giving birth naturally after a CS. In the event, I did end up with another CS, so you may also want to consider an elective CS, where you know exactly when the baby is going to come. There are also lots of stories on here about how much better an elective CS is than an emergency one. Discuss all your options with your GP/midwife though and don't let them bully you!

Tiaxx31 · 12/07/2010 17:54

Oh right so it all depends on how the baby is facing then. I thought if you had a c section then you could never have normal delivery again. So when does everything heal properly then. How long does it take after your stitched back up

Thank you soooo much midnightexpress for that helpful info x

It is estimated that 70% of people who try for a VBAC after a c-section are successful. I will be trying myself in October!

LolaKnickers · 13/07/2010 10:50

I appreciate your concerns and this explains why you want to see a doctor if you ARE pregnant, but why not just wee on a stick and find out now, and not waste a doctor's time if you aren't pregnant?
