Am 37 weeks pregnant and was having a quick check 'down there' and spotted a horrible blueish/purple growth on my vulva area. After panicking about tumours etc I think it is probably varicose veins brought on by pregnancy.I can't get to the docs this week and just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and what exactly they look like? - sorry it's a gross topic!...

My cousin had this when she had DC3 and DC4. She was in a lot of discomfort too.

All pain disappeared after the births although I have never asked about appearance as felt that was TMI!!

Yep, I've got/had one - it bled a small amount too which FREAKED me out, as obv I thought I was bleeding internally and something was wrong with the baby. However, apart from the initial bleed and soreness (at about 23 weeks) I've not had any further problems with it and I think it was exacerbated by a long haul flight I'd just done (26 hours). Just a theory but now that I'm home it's calmed right down. Mine looked like a blood blister really, according to DH - my view was obscured!

Oh god yes, I thought I was hatching a giant pair of purple bollocks! They do go quite quickly after birth you'll be glad to hear.
