DD is 26, nearly 27 months. I hadn't planned to potty train this early, but three weeks ago she declared that she didn't want to wear nappies any more so I thought what the heck, let's give it a whirl.
Wee has been a relative breeze -- she's reliably asking to go at home and at nursery, although I also make a point of taking her if I think it's been a while. The only wee accidents she's had in the last week-ten days have been mechanical ones relating to getting some of her skirt caught under her when sitting down or not taking shorts down quickly enough.
Poo was a bit of an issue from the start, but for the last week she's been asking to go pretty consistently at nursery. She's done one or two poos there every day this week with no accidents.
However, at home she's completely different. She poos in her pants (Dora the Explorer pants that she loves) and then announces either "DD poo pants" or (which I suppose is marginally more promising) "DD poo potty". It doesn't seem to help asking her if she needs to go (have done this before just five minutes before a poo accident) or encouraging her to try when she's having a wee (she does appear to try at these times when asked, but with no result).
She knows that poos go in the potty. And at nursery she knows that she needs to go and asks. So why can't she get the hang of it at home? It doesn't help that she's generally a twice or thrice daly pooer, so I'm generally clearing up at least one a day during the week and three at weekends.
I want to scream with frustration, but I assume that's not the constructively recommended course of action ? What do I do, or will this just sort itself out (and if so pleeeeeeeease tell me it will be soon)?
