DD is twenty months. She keeps taking her nappy off esp at bedtime. I think she's doing it for attention but could it be taht she's ready to start potty training?
She can say poo poo and wee wee but she dosn't always tell me when she has done one.
We have a potty but she shows no interest in using it.
When she does a poo she goes into her secret place like behind the curtains so I don't wnat to push her into anything if she'll get upset.

I don't have a huge amount of experience, but I would say between 2 and a quarter and 2 and three quarter years is best to start.

With both my children (1 boy, 1 girl) I left potty training until the summer closest to their 2.6 birthday because the most helpful thing of all is to have them naked from waist down for a couple of days. I think clothes and pants just confuse the issue.

Hate to sound smug, but I found potty training a breeze both times and it may be because I didn't try to push it too soon.

I think I will wait or just leave a potty around. i think that the less fuss is made about the trainng, the easier it is. Thanks for the advice.

Yes, definitely have a potty casually hanging around the place .

Fwiw, I don't know anyone who has successfully done potty training with a dc under 2 y/o. The very earliest to show an interest that I have known have been second girls at around the 2 year mark. But they had older sisters to copy.

DS2 is 2.6 and for a couple of months, he pees on the potty before his bath.
But he has no interest at all about using it in the day. Sometimes I can smell him a mile off and say "DS, have you pooed?" And he tells me no, so I figure he's not quite ready.
Meh. It'll happen.

As bibbity says, defo wait till summer, loads easier.
