DD (2.5) definately knows when she's about to go. We've tried the cold turkey approach twice over the past 6months but it always leads to a backward step.

Anyway from about 18 months dd has not had an accident on furniture, she always gets off the bed or sofa just before going if she hasn't got a nappy on, but won't tell me and denys if I ask. Although she sometimes tells me if she's got a nappy on.

I think she thinks it aceptable to go on the floor, which I haven't encouraged but have kept my cool and done the 'the floor is not the place, next time in the potty' line. She's a bit too happy to help clean up too so I'm not involving her in that at the moment.

What to do. Should I just put some paper down in the corner. Does anyone else have a dc they know can do it but just doesn't?
