Potty training going well at home but not at nursery

I have a just turned 3 year old boy, who’s been potty training for the last 2 weeks. He’s fantastic at home, asking for the potty when he needs both number 1 & 2.

However, when he’s at nursery he’s having constant accidents. They ask him if he needs to go, doing puzzles etc when he’s sitting on it. Yet he does nothing, then goes and wets/number 2’s himself.

Anyone had this issue?

Yeah super common as there is so much going on! So many angry parents cuz their kid is fine at home and dont understand why they are having accidents at nursery. Even some of our older more toilet trained ones have occasional accidents

Could be they are taking him too often so he tries to do something before really ready, then fifteen minutes later actually needs to go. I'd say give them a schedule - every two hours on potty or whatever he is up to at home, and roughly what time eg before snack.

Also, if he is letting you know himself at home, does he need prompting at nursery very regularly, or could they wait for him to ask?

And finally, what is the set up at nursery - can he quickly and easily get to the loo by himself?

Not to be the bearer of bad news but my son did this for ages! I'd say maybe for a year after cracking it at home, he'd have an accident at nursery or pre school. I just think it's fun and busy, some of the other kids are in nappies so there's less excitement about it, staff can never be quite as dedicated as you are because they're not 121. He got there eventually, just pack lots of spares and plastic bags! By school he was fine but lots of kids still have accidents in reception too. They just get distracted and it's harder to remember for them. I wouldn't stress, it'll come and its very common.
