Potty training at two: signs she is ready or still reluctant?

Hi all,

I would love some advice as everything i see says my girl is either doing great or completely not ready?!

She has just turned 2 at the beginning of May so I know is a little early but doesn't seem to be in the unachievable time frame and we started this fully prepared to say shes not ready let wait..

But.. I do think she gets it? Today is day 4. We have been bare bum last 3 days- trailing loose shorts today. Haven't been trying to sit her on a time frame- she's not a child that would react well will being told every 15 mins etc go to the potty if she didnt want to.

She will say I need a wee in advance most of the time, but not want to sit on the potty. Carry on playing and again i need a wee. This may happen 3 times before she can't hold it anymore, has a little dribble and will then accept when I say go to the potty for your wee. She will then happily sit on it and get her sticker all happy.

She has got loads of wees in the potty, and even 2 poos, by sitting herself on it- we just direct her the 'potty is here'. She just waits until the wee is starting to dribble before giving in..

Does this reluctantance mean shes not ready? I don't want to push her if shes genuinely not there but I do think part of it she's just being her usual stubborn sassy self because its not her idea!

She’s definitely ready.

She sounds ready to me.

She’s ready and 2 us not “early”.

Thanks for the confidence everyone! We tried loose shorts this morning and had to take them off as it was a disaster - hopefully this afternoon will be better!

She might just hate the potty. Do you have a toilet seat reducer? Give that a go
