DS (3 and 1 month) will happily sit on tje potty and sometimes wees but when we've full on gone for training he'll do a big wee in his pants and then another 10-20 mins later. Does that mean that hes mot ready yet cos hes still doing them so frequently?

No, it just means you need to train him to get used to holding for longer. If he will sit on the potty he is ready!

Leave the pants off, have potty close to hand , sit him on it every half hour, lots of praise when he sits on potty and round of applause for performing. Usually works.

I started off with no bottoms on and did pants and trousers later.

One of the things that he will be learning through potty training is that he can hold his wee for a bit (long enough to get his trousers and pants off) Eventually he will start doing bigger wees less often but lots of little wees (and some false alarms because he’s learning what the need to wee feeling is like ) is normal.

Highly recommend a podcast on Spotify, Brandi Brucks - potty train in 3 days

Lots of good tips on how to prepare and what to do before, during and after potty training

We had a few unsuccessful attempts when I was just winging it but after taking points from the podcast we got it straight away and it was really easy
